the ages

BOXTALES Theatre Company is renewing our program called The Ages, which will run through the Fall of 2010. The Ages is an intergenerational program in which Santa Barbara school students interview local elders about their lives, in an after-school format.

These life stories will then be crafted into original theatre pieces. These pieces will be offered to the schools in which they were created, and then be presented at the Lobero Theatre during the second week of December as part of their youth programming series. The projects goal is to encourage understanding between elders and youth, promote the transmission of cultural traditions from one generation to the next, and reconnect these two populations of our community.
